Onion tomato chutney is one of the easiest and delicious chutney for dosa. It pairs well with appam, oothappam and idli also.
Ingredients:
Oil-1tbsp- Onion chopped – 1 big
- Garlic chopped-1 tbsp
- Tomato chopped-1big
- Salt – to taste
- Red Chili Powder – to taste( ¾ tsp)
- Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Whole Dry Red Chili – 1
- curry leaves-few
- Heat 1 tsp Oil in a pan.
- Saute Onions until lightly caramelized.
- Add garlic and Crushed Tomatoes and cook for few minutes.
- Add Salt and Red Chili Powder, mix well
- After cools down; add in to a blender and puree it by adding water.
- In a pan, heat remaining Oil.
- Add Mustard Seeds and allow them to pop.
- Add Whole Red Chili and curry leaves.
- Add the pureed paste and boil for few minutes until thickens.
- Serve hot in side with dosa or idli.
