Green chilli chicken is a spicy and delicious chicken dry roast recipe. The chicken is cooked along a bunch of green goodness. Marinating the chicken pieces for long time make it tender and juicy. So please don't skip that. Try this versatile chicken recipe and you will start making it often. It is a perfect side dish for Indian flat bread and ghee rice.
Ingredients:
- Chicken pieces (preferably boneless)- 500 gm
- Oil-2 1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
- Lemon juice-2 tbsp
- Pepper powder-1 tbsp
- Salt-to taste
- Coriander leaves chopped- 1/4 cup
- Mint Leaves chopped- 1/4 cup
- Green chilly Slit- 1/4 cup (or as per spice tolerance)
- Curry leaves-2 springs.
- Onion-1 medium
- Crushed ginger and garlic- 1 1/2 tbsp
- Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder- 1/4 tsp
- Thick curd- 1/4 cup
- Onion-1 medium
- Marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric powder, lemon juice, pepper powder and salt for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- After that in a blender add ingredients from 7-14 and make a smooth green paste out of it by adding little water.
- Heat oil in a deep bottom pan; add the sliced one medium onion chopped and saute until soften.
- Add chicken pieces and cover cooks for about 10 minutes (flip to another side after 5 minutes) on medium fame.
- Add the green paste in to and mix well and Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add thick curd; mix well and cooks for another 10-15 minutes or until the chicken pieces gets nicely cooked and tender.
- Garnish on top with fried green chilli, fried curry leaves, lemon slices and freshly sliced onions.
