Whole Wheat Halwa / Tirunelveli Gothambu Halwa is a traditional sweet preparation on the Tirunnelveli district in TamilNadu(Kerala). Even the preparations need bit patience;It results an awesome melt in mouth Halwa. Instead of whole wheat; you can also use Samba wheat or broken wheat.

Ingredients:
- Whole wheat-1 cup
- Ghee-cup
- Sugar-2 1/2 cup
- Fried cashew-1/2 cup
- Soak the washed whole in water for overnight.
- After that; drain it and add in to a blender along with 1 1/2 cups of water. Blend well until smooth.
- Drain it and extract the wheat milk.
- Pour more water over the strainer to extract the maximum milk.
- Keep the wheat milk covered and untouched for 3 t o 4 hours.
- After 4 hours; the milk settled in the bottom of the pan and way water on top.
- Discard the top water carefully and mix the remaining milk with another a cup of fresh water.
- Heat a non-stick pan with 11/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water.
- Boil it without stirring until nice golden brown in color.
- Then add remaining sugar and a cup of hot water (be care while adding hot water; it may splutter).
- Stir well to avoid any lumps.
- Now add the wheat milk by stirring well.
- Cook continuously until thickens.
- When it almost thickens; add ghee little by little (in four or five additions).
- Cook until the ghee starts oozing out from the oil and the halwa easily leaves from the sides of the pan.
- Then turn off heat by adding fried cashews; mix ell to combine.
- Serve after cools down.
