Maida Burfi



Maida burfi is an easy and delicious melt in mouth sweet. It can be prepared for any special occasions within no time. Adding chopped nuts is optional for a nice crunch. But you must chop them very thinly.
Ingredients:
  1. Flour(maida)-3/4 cup

  2. Ghee-1/4 cup

  3. Sugar-3/4 cup

  4. Water- 1/4 cup

  5. Cardamom powder- 1/4 tsp

  6. Thinly chopped nuts-1 tbsp


Preparation:


  • Grease a square pan with ghee and keep aside.

  • Heat a pan with ghee; add flour and mix well in ow flame.

  • Saute for about 2-3 minutes on low flame without changing its colour.

  • Take it out from the pan and keep aside.

  • Heat water and sugar in a pan.

  • Cook until it reaches one string consistency.

  • Then add roasted flour and cardamom powder.

  • Mix well on low flame for few minutes (2-3 minutes) or until slightly leaves from the sides of the pan. (cooking for more time makes the burfi hard).

  • Pour the mixture in to greased square pan and level on top with the help of a greased spoon.

  • Sprinkle thinly chopped nuts on top and again slightly press them with the spoon.

  • Allow to cools down completely.

  • Cut them in to small squares using a sharp knife.

  • Store them in an air-tight container for long use.
