Maida burfi is an easy and delicious melt in mouth sweet. It can be prepared for any special occasions within no time. Adding chopped nuts is optional for a nice crunch. But you must chop them very thinly.
Ingredients:
- Flour(maida)-3/4 cup
- Ghee-1/4 cup
- Sugar-3/4 cup
- Water- 1/4 cup
- Cardamom powder- 1/4 tsp
- Thinly chopped nuts-1 tbsp
Preparation:
- Grease a square pan with ghee and keep aside.
- Heat a pan with ghee; add flour and mix well in ow flame.
- Saute for about 2-3 minutes on low flame without changing its colour.
- Take it out from the pan and keep aside.
- Heat water and sugar in a pan.
- Cook until it reaches one string consistency.
- Then add roasted flour and cardamom powder.
- Mix well on low flame for few minutes (2-3 minutes) or until slightly leaves from the sides of the pan. (cooking for more time makes the burfi hard).
- Pour the mixture in to greased square pan and level on top with the help of a greased spoon.
- Sprinkle thinly chopped nuts on top and again slightly press them with the spoon.
- Allow to cools down completely.
- Cut them in to small squares using a sharp knife.
- Store them in an air-tight container for long use.
