Ingredients:
- Fish pieces- 400 gm
- Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
- Chilly powder-1 tsp
- Coriander powder-1/2 tsp
- Lemon juice-1 tsp
- Salt-to taste
- Mustard Oil-for shallow frying
- Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
- Coriander seeds-1 tsp
- Onion-1 large sliced
- Tomato-1 large sliced
- Sliced ginger-1 tbsp
- Sliced garlic-1 tbsp
- Cashews-10 numbers
- Whole spices-few (cinnamon, cardamom, cumin, pepper cones, bay leaf and F)
- Kashmiri chilly powder-1 tbsp
- Kasoori methi-1/2 tsp
- Fresh ginger slices-to garnish
- Fresh green chilly slices-to garnish
- Marinate fish pieces with ingredients from 2 to 6.
- Shallow fry them in mustard oil until done (don't over fry).
- Take out from the oil and keep aside.
- Keep 1 tbsp of fried oil in the same pan and add cumin seeds, coriander seeds followed by onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and cashews.
- Saute well till tomatoes are mashed.
- Allow to cools down and add in to a blender.
- Blend to smooth by adding enough water.
- Heat 1 tbsp of fish fried oil and add whole spices.
- Add kashmiri chilly powder and mix well.
- Add blend onion masala, salt and enough water for the gravy.
- Cover the lid and cook on low flame for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Then add fried fish pieces, kasoori methi and fresh ginger slices.
- Mix and cook for another a minute.
- Serve by garnishing on top with ginger and green chilly slices.
